The Power of Giving Things Away

It feels counterintuitive. Giving something away - love, power, expertise, support, help, things - without the expecting something in return. It feels like setting yourself up to be depleted.

But, it all centers around trust. Have you ever trusted anyone who was just out to take from you?

Marketers give value away to make a sale. Maybe it's information. Maybe it's guidance. Maybe it's a trial. But, good marketers always give something away to build trust and prove their expertise.

We build trust the same way in relationships. Nobody wants to be taken advantage of. The best relationships begin with two-way selflessness and build upon that foundation.
